The Story Behind the Shirt

This design wasn’t created to glorify darkness—it was created to remind us that the love of Jesus is greater than it.

I designed this shirt during one of the hardest seasons of my life. My brother was battling addiction and had fallen into a heartbreaking relapse. I wanted to be angry. I wanted to give up. My flesh wanted to respond with frustration, hurt, and disappointment.

But every time those feelings came, the Holy Spirit kept whispering one thought into my heart:

“Love the hell out of him.”

My Sister-in-Law is my witness!

Not because he deserved it.
Not because what he was doing was okay.
But because Jesus loved me when I didn’t deserve it.

That’s when I realized something powerful.

We’re called to love people so relentlessly that darkness has no place to stay. We’re called to forgive, to encourage, to pray, to show mercy, and to point people toward Christ. We don’t battle against flesh and blood—we battle the darkness that seeks to destroy the people God loves.

The phrase “Love the Hell Out of Someone” isn’t about celebrating hell. It’s about driving it out through the transforming love of Jesus Christ.

The Bible tells us:

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear.” — 1 John 4:18

And:

“Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers all offenses.” — Proverbs 10:12

This shirt is a reminder that every person you meet is fighting a battle you may never see. A kind word, a prayer, forgiveness, encouragement, or simply showing up can become the very thing God uses to change someone’s life.

So when you wear this shirt, you’re making a statement:

Love people fiercely.
Fight for hearts, not against people.
Be the light that pushes back the darkness.
